Jamaican Kids
By Rob | July 9, 2008
Here are some more pictures of Jamaican kids taken during my photography adventures after Brenda and Jason’s Riu Ocho Rios wedding! My Jamaica journeys after the wedding took me all over Ocho Rios, up Mt. Zion and back down to a small beach near Ocho Rios Jamaica.
They curiously watched me as I walked up on these little Jamaican school kids.
The moment I smiled and gave them a wave…..they smiled ear to ear and started yelling!
They were so curious about what I was doing and my camera gear.
This picture is one of my faves! Reminds me of National Geographic.
I felt like the mamma goose with her baby geese.
Loved these kids boots…how they were untied.
They all posed up and waited for me to take some pictures!
Chhheeeeeeeesssssseeeeeeee!!
I got about 25 “high fives” before I left. They were so cool!

Nassau Valley Vineyards wedding
By Rob | June 24, 2008
This past weekend I had double weddings! I rarely book two wedding in one weekend, but this was an exception. Annette and Chris’s ceremony started at St Edmonds Church in Rehoboth Beach Delaware (where I got married), and moved to Nassau Valley Vineyards for the reception. Yes, I shot a wedding at Nassau Valley the night before!!! Bayside Limo was also the limo service, too! Gotta love the small town. After the ceremony, we headed to the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk for some bridal party pictures. Their wedding day went off without a hitch and wedding guests danced until the end!

Nassau Valley Vineyards wedding
By Rob | June 23, 2008
Erin came to me by way of a couple friends, a co-worker and Bayberry Flowers! When I received the first email I was pretty sure I knew who it was. Come to find out I regularly spike on her brother during “Sunday Funday volleyball!!!” (What’s up, Matt?) Anyways…everything fell in place, and I was slated to photograph Erin and Rob’s Nassau Valley Vineyard wedding. After several attempts we finally got together for their Lewes Delaware Engagement pictures! Soon I found out that Rob was an IT guy and we quickly dove in……and out of conversation about Unix and such! I think Erin fell asleep in that 5 minute period.
Their wedding day started in Lewes Delaware and moved over to Nassau Valley Vineyards. The ceremony and reception were all at the vineyards. After the ceremony, Bayside Limo carted the wedding party and me to Cape Henlopen State Park for some pictures. Then headed back to Nassau Valley Vineyards to start the party! Boy, did they party!!!
Most of my brides are a little goofy!
Perfect weather!
Rob was a dancing machine!
Amazing food by Blue Moon!

All images will be up around July 21st!

Planning a destination wedding
By Rob | June 23, 2008
When is the right time to start planning your destination wedding?
By Laura Rostenberg Sangster, CTA
The exact answer to this question is almost as varied as the number of possible wedding locations! Let’s first consider the required time-frame to secure your desired ceremony date at the resort. High Season in warm weather locations for a Caribbean wedding, Mexico wedding, and Hawaii wedding is from mid-December to mid-April. High Season essentially means the airfare and resort rates are higher, spiking because of the popularity of these four months. High Season in the tropics also correlates with the best months for perfect weather, an important consideration for any bride! Being that resorts sell out first for High Season dates, 12 months out is a good scale for brides preferring this time of year. Following High Season, May and June is the second most popular time of year for Destination Weddings and planning 9 months out is recommended. Fall is peak hurricane season and the least desirable weather-wise, but offers the most advantageous rates. The lower the rates, the more people will likely be able to attend your wedding day“ something to consider if fêting the night away with your entire family and many friends is important! For a fall wedding, you can usually secure your top time choice 6 months out.
Of course, there are other essentials to consider when knowing when to start planning. Because photography is likely the most crucial element to any wedding, many brides are opting to bring their own wedding photographer. Good Destination Wedding photographers and wedding coordinators book out 12 months in advance. Most other necessary vendors such as florists and caterers are based locally and 6 months out is a good plan, longer if you want flowers that are not grown locally. For my own Destination Wedding in Jamaica, I dreamed of a Calla Lillie bouquet, not being grown on the island we had to have them flown in, requiring extra planning time.
Lastly, but certainly not least important, your guests will appreciate as much notice as possible so they will have adequate time to plan and research their own travel plans!
Cheers,

Lewes Delaware wedding
By Rob | June 19, 2008
After spending a day with Sara and Steve for their Washington DC engagement pictures, I knew we’d have fun on their wedding day! The day started at Bad Hair Day in Lewes Delaware with a ceremony at St Jude’s Church. Then we drove around a bit to Rehoboth Beach and Lewes Delaware for some more wedding photography. Sara and Steve were down for doing whatever…as long as it was fun! Then we headed back to Sara’s parents’ home for a small wedding reception and some great food by The Buttery Restaurant.
All the images will be available around July 15th!

New York City engagement pictures
By Rob | June 19, 2008
I met Rob and Melissa a couple times at other events since Rob is a DJ. At Joanna and Ryan’s Greenville Country Club wedding Rob mentioned his recent engagement….so of course, I gave him my business card! Well, about two weeks later I get an email from Melissa and they wanted to meet up and discuss wedding photography. They booked me for their Philadelphia wedding and everything was good to go. Then I get “the call.” Melissa tells me her venue double-booked, and they had to change the date of their wedding!!! We were all pretty bummed out, but, decided to do some engagement pictures anyway! I’m glad we did….because we had a blast! Maybe I’ll shoot their vow renewal in Bora Bora next year???
We started the day at the restaurant where Rob asked Melissa to be his wife!
We sat at the exact table!
We headed down to the subway.
Rob did a little pole dance.
Pictures near the Brooklyn Bridge lower Manhattan New York are always nice.
Man…I love my Canon ST-E2 and Canon 580EX II.
LOLOLOLOL!
Good times!

Rick’s Cafe Negril Jamaica
By Rob | June 11, 2008
Here are some more pictures from my Jamaica photography adventures after Brenda and Jason’s Riu Ochos Rios wedding. The first day we drove up to the mountains and visited a couple of Jamaican schools. The 2nd day our main mission was to make it to Rick’s Cafe Negril for the sunset! The ride from Ochos Rios to Negril was amazing! We stopped by the SOS Village of Jamaica on the way, then hit the road again.
The jumpers would climb up the tree and jump about 95 feet.
That was too high for me….so I jumped off the 40 foot cliff instead. Video to follow…
Some of the locals….
The local kid even showed off for the crowd.
The kids counted their tips.
I learned a lot about the meaning of “worth” to different people.
This dude was awesome…the music started playing and he started jammin’!
This was NOT an easy shot of Rick’s Cafe.
The crowd huddled to see Rick’s Cafe’s famous sunset!
Negril Jamaica is definitely my next stop when I visit Jamaica again!
You must tip everyone. It’s disrespectful not to. Carry a lot of US dollars and tip often.
The local Jamaican people will take care of you if you take care of them.

Baywood Greens wedding
By Rob | June 10, 2008
Kristen and Bill came up from Salisbury Maryland and had a wonderful Baywood Greens wedding! The ceremony and reception all were at Baywood so it was nice to be in one place the whole day. It was almost 100 degrees during the ceremony…good thing it was only about 10 minutes long. The bridal party was full of characters and Kristen and Bill were smiling the whole night…which always makes my job easier!
Love this shot…..too bad that is a Nikon camera!
All images will be available around 7/9/2008.
